LADIES IN LAVENDER.............AND MELVYN

Sunnybank Craft Club was awash with lavender today..... Susan came up with a fistful of facts on the subject including a bible quote.  Don't know how she does it but they are always fascinating.  After the talk everyone got down to make a fabric lavender bag, helped out by Melvyn, Lynn, Sharon and Pat.

METHOD AND MATERIALS
2 x Squares of fabric(approx 3"x3"or bigger if you wish) + a piece of wadding slighty smaller.
6" of ribbon, a button and about six tablespoons of dried lavender

With wrong sides facing inwards put the two pieces of fabric together and using a running stitch work round three sides.
Next split the wadding down the middle, so it looks like a pocket and push it into the bag.
Fill the middle with lavender then continue with the running stitch across the open side.
Just before you finish it off catch the ribbon in the corner of the bag with a few stitches.
Stitch the button to the centre of the bag.

We also had a bag filled with lavender related bits and pieces like bath foam, body cream, a scented knitted heart, which we raffled off with proceeds going to the daycare centre.
