LITTLE PERFORATIONS AND BOOKMARK CARDS

At Sunnybank Craft Club today the group made greetings cards with a bookmark attached.

Susan who prepared the class came up with some more of her, sometimes hilarious, facts this time on perforations. What's the connection ?......well you tear the perforations on the card to detach the bookmark...clever stuff.
One of her facts was to tell us how generations ago toilet paper was made in large square pieces to accommodate the rather large posterior of the emporers. Well fancy that !
Also as an ex- postmistress she told us about how stamps in the early days had to be cut apart with scissors before we had little perforations.
We rewarded her with her own little perforations in the form of a nice cup of tea.
Technique for  making cards.  :
After colouring in the printed flower picture, we attached a strip of coloured paper to the front of the card with double sided tape then taped the picture on top of that.  The bookmark was made using peel off stickers, punching a hole in the top and threading ribbon through. "Simples" !
Everyone took a finished card with envelope home with them and we all had a good laugh at where people were sticking the tape...... I will say no more.  And all for £2.
Next time we are making lavendar bags.  Date : Monday 26th September at 10.00am.
